Annual Report

Laramie County School District 1 strives to hire the most qualified employees in all areas who will perform to the best of their abilities, be ethical and be results-driven.
The district has 2,213 FTE staff. This includes 1,297 regular classroom teachers, including part-time and job shares, plus 113 full- and part-time administrators, 15 of whom have doctorates and 72 of whom have master’s degrees.
During the 2013–2014 school year, the district employed 570 elementary teachers, 476 secondary teachers, and 251 special education and instructional support specialists, which included social workers, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and three physical therapists. Of the teachers, 794 have master’s degrees; 10 of whom also have doctorates.

Employee Unit Organization
  • Units are as follows: Teacher/Support (1,297), Paraprofessional (345), Nutrition Services (70), and Custodial (133).
  • The Transportation Unit members include bus drivers, dispatchers, mechanics/upholsters and transportation assistants (140).
  • The Technical & Support Services unit members are executive secretaries, classified employees, clerical employees, facility technicians, warehouse employees, mailroom and grounds employees (266).
  • The Administration unit members include the superintendent, assistant superintendents, directors, principals, associate and assistant principals, curriculum coordinators, program administrators, psychologists/psychometrists/psychological technicians, department of technology administrators, managers and foremen (113).
Professional Development
All district employees received a variety of professional development opportunities throughout the school year.

Employee Recognition
LCSD1 honored 125 employees at its 27th annual employee recognition reception. Sixty-four employees retired from the district with up to 40 years of service. Of those honored as long-term employees, two were honored for 40 years of service, eight were honored for 35 years of service, six for 30 years of service, 13 for 25 years of service and 32 for 20 years of service.
